Purchased this from amazon about a month ago and it functions wonderful. I use mine on a kayak so I need to use a transportable model. The suction cup is brilliant, do not be concerned about it falling off. I have to slide a knife below it to un-stick it from my boat.
The battery it comes with is like a little auto battery, and initially turned me off to the item, this being the days of lithium-ion technology and all. I rapidly warmed to it, yet, as it recharges well and lasts forever. I went on a four hour fishing trip, left it uncharged, then took it out once more for one other four hours devoid of coming close to losing power.
The dual beam was a major selling point for me when I purchased it, but honestly it seldom spots any much more fish (fish picked up by the second beam are displayed as white rather than black). I wouldn't let this feature preserve you from getting a single beam item.
